From Knowledge to Action - YOU are the Key to Unlocking the Door to Action

It's been over a year now since I started writing this blog, and I hope you've been enjoying following my journey and learning alongside me. On the topic of ‘learning,’ it's something I’m truly embracing at this stage of my life. However, it can also carry a lot of extra weight, often adding to the already heavy load on our shoulders. The constant flow of information—books, podcasts, social media, news, expert advice—can be overwhelming, and it never stops!

I’m definitely guilty of absorbing so much information that I end up feeling confused about which direction to take. And what inevitably happens at this point? That confusion leads to inaction, and we end up stuck. One expert says to do this, another article advises something completely different… it’s like navigating a minefield!

​

So, here's what I do when I feel overwhelmed by information and find myself stuck: I return to my core goals, trust that I understand myself better than anyone else, and experiment with small changes to see what works for me. Some things I know right away won’t sit well with me, so I let them go and don't overthink it. Other things, I think, “Why not give it a try?” and see how it feels. It’s all about tapping into self-awareness and allowing yourself to be the key to unlocking new opportunities. Be guided by the experts and information but tune into what is good or not so good for you as an individual.

Remembering along the way that change is messy! The road from A to B is rarely a straight line, so don’t expect it to be. Be prepared for the possibility that your first attempt at something new might not work, but don’t let that discourage you. Instead, continue learning about yourself along the way and adapt based on how you’re feeling.

​

So what will it be? Trying some recommended gut health foods, doing 3 minutes of breathing before bed, doing a home workout in your lunch break, going for a mindful walk? Here’s my challenge to you: The next time you come across a new healthy habit or tool that you think could positively impact YOUR life, give it a try and see how it makes you feel. Don’t overthink it. Don’t worry if it hasn’t worked for someone else you know—just try it, pay attention to how it makes you feel, and see if it could become a regular habit if it resonates with you.
